While Okaya International (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. was established in 2015, our headquarters Okaya & Co. Ltd. was initially founded in 1669. Today, the Group has presence in over 20 countries across continents.
Our History
Okaya started its business in a castle town of Nagoya in 1669, as a store named "Sasaya." Our history that stayed rooted in a local community is the fruit of our unrelenting efforts to keep evolving our business while keeping up with ever-changing times. Today, we have obtained trust and achieved outstanding results on-site worldwide as the "best global sourcing partner" that contributes to manufacturing. Looking to the future, we will continue shaping the present and passing on the trust and confidence to the next generation.

Hardware store called “SASAYA” founded by OKAYA’s first-generation owner Sosuke-Muneharu Okaya in Teppo-cho, Nagoya (at current headquarters location).
1943
Corporate name changed to "OKAYA & CO., LTD."
1986
Construction of headquarters building completed.
2015
Okaya International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd established as subsidiary.
