Okaya International (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. Strengthens Environmental CSR Initiative Through Eco-roots Programme at FRIM
Okaya International (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. recently carried out its Eco-roots environmental CSR initiative at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) in Kepong, Selangor, as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement through a CSR programme in Malaysia.
The initiative brought together seven employees and their family members for a hands-on environmental activity focused on forest propagation, seedling preparation and landscape planting. The programme provided participants with practical knowledge of plant care while encouraging greater awareness of forest conservation and environmental responsibility.
A key aspect of the environmental CSR initiative was its continued impact beyond the programme day. The seedlings prepared during the activity will remain at the FRIM nursery for continued care before being donated to schools, universities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other organisations for future planting activities. This approach allows the initiative to contribute to ongoing environmental awareness and conservation efforts in Malaysia.
The Eco-roots Initiative also provided an opportunity for our employees and their families to strengthen teamwork while contributing to a shared environmental cause.
